Wednesday May 13, 2020
Sorry for disappearing everyone! I got a little busy and that wasn't fair to all of you who are sticking with me through this entire journey. I'm planning on changing up The Bobby Mason Audio experience a little bit.
#1) I'm going to add a podcast explaining the lessons I pick up during the week.
#2) I'm going to be posting weekly podcasts with the boys.
#3) I'm going to be giving you a couple updates a week on exactly what's going on in my entrepreneurial world.
Thanks again for listening, even with my inconsistent posting schedule!

You've figured out the most brilliant idea!
So you grab your best friend and your brother to start the company together.
In your excitement to get started, you and your two cofounders fail to do your due diligence by learning more about each others expertise, motivations, and resources-- and to make matters worse, you scurry along and divide your equity into even thirds. After all, this is the most obvious thing to do because you all love each other and you want to make sure everyone is treated fairly...
Two months later, the company is booming, but there's one small problem... you realize your best friend has barely touched the project since you started. To make matters worse, when you bring up the issue, your best friend informs you that he will be leaving the company and deserves to keep his 1/3 share in the venture.
Now you and your brother are essentially doing all the work, while your best friend gets paid an equal share of the profits. Still excited about jumping into a partnership without learning the basics of forming a strong cofounder relationship? Maybe you are still excited to jump in without learning more... but I can guarantee you that some day you won't be happy about it.
"BUT THIS WON'T HAPPEN TO ME."
I hear the above statement all the time, and yet... two-thirds of startups end up failing because of disagreements between founders. Because founding isn't as simple as drawing up an agreement and shaking hands over it. In fact, there are eight steps required to build a cofounding team that will win the entrepreneurial game.
1. Identifying what you need in a cofounder.
2. Preselecting your cofounder through a series of interviews.
3. Assigning the proper roles and responsibilities to your cofounder.
4. Taking regular, weekly/monthly "Cofounder Dates."
5. Splitting equity the RIGHT way.
6. Creating an air-tight Founders' Collaboration Agreement for protection.
7. Negotiating and learning from cofounder conflict.
8. Fixing cofounder mistakes to avoid startup fatality.
This course will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know prior to jumping into the world of entrepreneurship with a cofounder! Don't go into a founder relationship blind... use the experiences of people who have done it countless times and follow a proven roadmap to improve your chances of cofounder success.

What makes us boys insecure?
Wednesday May 06, 2020
Wednesday May 06, 2020
I have two questions for the boys today:
#1) What makes you insecure and do you know why?
#2) If you worked for the next 365 days and you made $1 million dollars at the end of the year, how would you feel, what would you do with the money, and how would your life change from it's current state?
Also, Brandon shares a wild idea that we may consider doing!

I'm so proud of my Wife!
Tuesday May 05, 2020
Tuesday May 05, 2020
A lot of bragging going on the last couple of days, but I just can't help it! The lovely wife and I worked on creating a new online store for our brick and mortar store Seedlings Gifts & Books, and she (my wife) was able to convert on three sales in the first 24 hours. Which is completely awesome but also a little humbling because I don't remember getting my first online sale for roughly six months after launching my first company... ouch. I guess I just found another thing she's better than me at!
Also, I talk through what's going on with Three Timbers and the major scare I had last night when it came to the new Three Timbers launch. Lastly, one of my favorite parts of the week happens tonight: The boys and I will be recording our weekly podcast! Listen in tomorrow for the full show:)

12,677 Students Bought Our Course!
Monday May 04, 2020
Monday May 04, 2020
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT EITHER! This weekend was definitely shocking to me... I had over 12,000 students purchase my first course in 48 hours. This isn't an episode full of bragging but I did want to update all of you on the crazy progression that occurred in the world of Educating Entrepreneurs since we talked last.
Also, I wanted to take a moment to talk to you about dealing with hate, because when you do something unique or special, people usually respond with hate. I definitely got to witness some of that this weekend, but I kind of like it:)

How to handle pressure.
Friday May 01, 2020
Friday May 01, 2020
The boys are back and Big Joe has a question for all of us:
"For me, there is almost never a time that I am not thinking about work. Issues in the present, issues in the future, and the overload of tasks that need to be completed during the next day/week/month. It's not healthy or a sustainable way of living. The stress is constant and difficult to control.
How do you handle the enormous amounts of stress each of us put upon ourselves?"
Great question Joe. Listen in to hear what each of us do to handle the pressure we put on ourselves.
Oh, one last thing! Remember last week, when we talked about our Zone of Geniuses? We ended the show by telling Brandon to be prepared with a new Zone of Genius this week and shockingly, he wasn't prepared. So, next week, if he doesn't have a Zone of Genius at the ready, we'll be shaving his head... just a quick side note for you:)

We were about to kill each other...
Thursday Apr 30, 2020
Thursday Apr 30, 2020
Let me start by saying I love my wife like crazy and I would never do anything to harm her:) But, we did learn yesterday that when both of us work a crazy amount in the same place, our level of irritation seems to rise a little bit as well. Beyond that, we learned that crazy hours can put a large amount of stress on our bodies and minds without even noticing. We started to lose focus on the most important part of doing business in the first place... We do business to improve our lives. We take on extra projects for fun and excitement. And non of it matters if it brings on contempt, frustration, or hatred.
I don't know if this will make sense to most of you but I figured it was important to share anyways, so there you go.

Offer DENIED!
Wednesday Apr 29, 2020
Wednesday Apr 29, 2020
The offer we have worked reasonably hard on was just denied... so I figured what better time to make a quick episode on how I'm actually feeling after "failing." Don't worry, I don't feel all that bad. But it definitely leads to a plethora of options:
#1: Quit because somebody said "no."
#2: Emotionally move forward by making a much higher offer because I want the house and I've put work into figuring out how to remodel and rent it.
#3: Be a good investor, think logically, give it some time, keep looking for other options, and NEVER give up no matter how many denials I receive.
What option do you think I should take?
Tuesday Apr 28, 2020
We're making an offer...
Tuesday Apr 28, 2020
Tuesday Apr 28, 2020
It was a busy day.
#1: We are finally making an offer on a brand new real estate project. I don't want you to get too excited because we're definitely going in with a low offer, but I do hope you can learn a little something about how we approach negotiations.
#2: We opened Three Timbers roughly 72 hours ago and we already have three clients. Lucky us:)
#3: We are adding an online presence to our brick and mortar retail store!
It's a lot of work all coming together at the same time, and it will take a whole lot more work to pull it all off. But I know one thing, if I keep trying to become a little better than I was yesterday, all of this stuff will work eventually.
